CrypPro, now operating as Kappalab, is a leading market maker in the cryptocurrency space. They provide 24/7 institutional-grade liquidity on crypto assets, making digital asset markets more efficient and accessible.
Challenge
At the time of the project, CrypPro was running its infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This setup created latency issues because most of their partnered exchanges were hosted on AWS, leading to slower trade execution and reduced operational efficiency.
On top of the latency challenges, GCP’s cost structure was becoming increasingly inefficient as the business scaled. CrypPro needed a fast, low-risk migration strategy to move to AWS – improving performance, lowering costs, and enabling rapid expansion into new markets.
Solution
Firemind designed and delivered a migration plan to transition CrypPro’s infrastructure from GCP to AWS with minimal downtime. The new AWS architecture leveraged scalability and elasticity, allowing quick redeployment into new regions to support market growth.
We implemented Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Git Flow and CI/CD pipelines for fast, repeatable deployments and rollbacks. A peer-to-peer network stack was configured to reduce round-trip latencies between AWS regions. AWS Single Sign-On and account baseline setups were deployed to streamline identity management and security, alongside detailed documentation for ongoing maintenance.
